Welcome to 4AM Textures ("the site", "we", "our", "us"). By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1Using the site

Anyone may browse and download textures from 4AM Textures, for personal or commercial projects, free of charge and without an account.

Uploading requires a contributor account, which is created with an invite code issued by an administrator.

  • Do not use the site for anything unlawful.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
  • Do not scrape the site in bulk in a way that degrades it for others.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

2Licensing of uploaded textures

Everything uploaded to 4AM Textures is released under CC0 1.0 (public domain dedication). By uploading, you irrevocably waive your copyright and related rights in that content worldwide, to the fullest extent permitted by law, so that anyone may use it for any purpose without permission, payment, or attribution.

This is the whole point of the site: everything here is free to use, forever, with no strings attached. Please only upload work you are genuinely happy to release this way, because a CC0 dedication cannot be withdrawn after the fact. Removing a texture from the site does not un-license copies other people have already downloaded.

By uploading, you confirm that:

  • You created the content yourself, or you otherwise hold all the rights needed to release it under CC0.
  • It contains no third-party material such as logos, brands, recognisable people or private property, or assets from games, films, or stock libraries, that you do not have the right to release.
  • You understand your files and their metadata (title, description, tags) are publicly visible and downloadable by anyone.

3Prohibited content and behaviour

Do not upload:

  • Content you do not own or have the rights to release under CC0.
  • Material that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or obscene.
  • Spam, malware, exploits, or anything intended to harm other users or the site.
  • AI-generated content, meaning anything produced with generative AI tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, or Gemini.

We may remove any content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or permanently ban accounts that do so. A permanent ban deletes the account along with all of its uploads, and blocks the email address from registering again.

4Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email contact@4amtextures.com with a link to the texture, a description of the work you say it infringes, and a way to contact you. We will review it and remove infringing content promptly.

5Accounts

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity carried out under your account.
  • You may change your username, email, password, or profile picture at any time in your account settings.
  • You may delete your account at any time. This also permanently deletes all textures and bundles you have uploaded, including the files. It does not revoke the CC0 licence on copies already downloaded.
  • We may remove abusive accounts at our discretion.

6Availability

4AM Textures is a free, hobby-run project. We make no guarantee that the site will be available, complete, or preserved indefinitely. Please keep your own copies of anything you rely on, including your own uploads.

7Disclaimer of warranties

All content is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees about the quality, accuracy, legality, or fitness of any texture for your intended use. Use of the site and its content is at your own risk.

8Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 4AM Textures and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its content.

9Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how it is handled, and forms part of these terms.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and significant changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
